The 'Dhoongri' temple at Manali, dedicated to the goddess 'Hadimba', is believed to be over a thousand years old.
Two miles(three Km.) from Manali are the sulfer springs of 'Bashishta' and a little higher up is a small Bhrigu' lake, named after a sage. The Kullu valley ends as the road winds up through rocky ranges to 'Rohtang Pass',The gateway to the enchanting Lahaul and Spiti Valleys.
